Meet the Schell Family About Repperts - Meet the Schell Family

Larry Schell
In 1978 Larry Schell was presented with a business opportunity and went for it. The desire to have his own business fueled his decision to switch from a banking career to a candy manufacturer. Now, Larry enjoys overseeing all aspects of operations at Reppert’s Candy, including production handled by his sons, Keith and Ken.

Larry is a local resident and a graduate of Boyertown High School. He has served as President of the Retail Confectioners Association of Philadelphia and is also a member of the Retail Confectioners International, Inc.

Jean Schell
Jean, who took the entrepreneurial leap with Larry in 1978, oversees the retail side of Reppert’s Candy, as well as the growing fundraising programs for schools and charitable organizations. Jean takes great pride in presenting and displaying all of Reppert’s candy in their 1300 square foot retail store as well as working with her husband, Larry, and sons Keith and Ken.

Keith Schell
Prior to becoming a full time employee with Reppert’s Candy, Keith worked in numerous culinary positions. Years of culinary experience, coupled with 12 plus full time years Reppert’s Candy, has proved to be an important part of the company’s success. Keith is part of the production department and also involved in research and development for new products. If he’s not in the shop, or on the golf course, you can find him inventing one of his tasty creations such as a caramel or peanut butter topped pretzel covered with chocolate.

Ken Schell
Growing up in the business, and now with over 11 years of experience, Ken oversees production as well as the cooking of the products. Ken is a graduate of Albright College, as well a graduate of Retail Confectioners International, Inc. Candy School, a comprehensive hands on course dedicated to polishing skills and learning new ones. As treasurer of the Candy Show committee for the Retailers Confectioners Association of Philadelphia, Ken helps organize the largest and most complete retail confectionary show in the country. Continuing education and keeping an eye open to new trends in the confection industry are key aspects of Ken’s vision for continued success.
